About Me
My Journey
A journey from JNU to Rice University, from corporate strategy at VAS Carbons to credit risk at Neste in Houston, and now an incoming PhD at Rutgers Business School — shaped by curiosity, resilience, and a desire to contribute meaningfully across global markets.
The Path So Far
My career spans rigorous academic training and hands-on corporate experience across strategy, finance, and economics — in both India and the United States.
At VAS Carbons in Bengaluru, I led pricing and export strategy, driving 40% revenue growth and negotiating a $2M multi-year contract with a European gold mining firm. I later built dynamic pricing frameworks and established two subsidiaries to cut logistics costs.
At Neste US in Houston, I managed $75M+ in credit lines across a global renewable fuels portfolio, built risk models that reduced exposure by 15%, and collaborated with the company's strategy team at its Espoo headquarters.
During my MBA at Rice University, I provided strategic consultation to Sasol Limited and Toshiba International — building cost-modelling frameworks that projected 20% savings for Sasol's US distribution, and conducting competitor analysis that advised Toshiba against a US market entry, helping them avoid multi-million-dollar losses.
Teaching & Political Consulting
Between corporate roles, I served as Assistant Professor of Economics at Bharata Mata College, teaching econometrics, growth & development, and research methodology to 180+ undergraduates. I supported the institution's NAAC accreditation process and led capacity-building initiatives in applied data skills.
I have also been involved in political consulting, bringing analytical rigour and strategic thinking to campaigns and electoral decision-making.
Resilience
Surviving Guillain-Barré Syndrome fundamentally reshaped how I approach learning, work, and leadership. It taught me to value depth over speed, and to bring patience and perspective to everything I do.
Current Focus
I am an incoming PhD candidate in International Business (Strategy) at Rutgers Business School, where I will be pursuing research at the intersection of global strategy, institutions, and economic decision-making. Alongside this, I continue to offer selective professional services in consulting, tutoring, and coaching.
