I study how organizations adapt when the rules keep shifting.
I'm Emil Mathew Binny — an incoming PhD candidate in International Business & Strategy at Rutgers Business School, with an MBA from Rice University and an MA in Applied Economics from JNU. My research integrates institutional and behavioral strategy with quantitative methods; my practice spans corporate finance, pricing strategy, political strategy research, and the classroom.
The question I keep returning to
How do firms and organizations adapt when the rules of the game are unclear or shifting?
Institutional strategy
How firms read and respond to changing rules, norms, and regulation across borders and markets.
Behavioral strategy
How cognition, judgment, and incentives shape decisions under genuine uncertainty.
Quantitative methods
Causal inference, econometrics, and simulation — rigorous enough to make the claims credible.
Grounded in practice
Theory tested against real decisions.
Before returning to research, I spent years where the stakes were operational — managing credit risk across global portfolios, pricing for growth under commodity volatility, advising on market entry strategy, researching electoral and institutional dynamics, and teaching the methods underneath it all.
Political Strategy Researcher
Quantitative modeling of institutional and behavioral dynamics in electoral settings. Applied game-theoretic and segmentation frameworks to campaign strategy.
